I have lupus and should be watching my spoons as well but frequently let “excitement carry me away”, as you’ve described so it was very helpful (and positive) to see how you manage for a series of events like this. Thank you for sharing!
Bit late to reading this but hope you have a great con! This'll be my first worldcon, first multi-day convention I've ever attended, so it is a balance of anxiety/excitement. I'm certainly excited for the book party! Thanks so much for organising.
On the whole, yes. I learnt so much and got to properly chat with some of my favourite creatives and meet some new ones and that was wonderful. I'm a lot better at socialising one on one or in a group if there's someone I 'know'. Otherwise I could've made more of it, talking to more people. But hey I've joined the discord now so at least I have that community of fellow writers to lurk in! How was your con experience on the whole?
This is by far, one of the most pathetic things I’ve ever read. You’ll be useless for 2 weeks after a con? It’s not like you were of any use before it anyway
What a beautiful, thought-provoking, helpful column. xx
Thank you so much for saying so, I'm glad it might be useful to others. x

I'm so sorry you have to play this balancing act too but thank you for reading & I'm glad if it was useful to you!

It was lovely to meet you briefly, amidst the book party madness! Did you enjoy the con?

Having community to hide in is such a help in making these events less overwhelming & more fun! I'm glad you found the discord!

Why are you following and commenting on a writer you believe to be so useless?
For your information, Lorraine is an acclaimed author. What use are you?
I don't quite understand this. What condition/illness do you have? You get headaches and feel unwell all the time?
